Our Statement of Faith

As the D’Vine Worship Ministries (DWM), we are committed to adhering to the following doctrines:

1. We believe Jesus Christ is the only way to God the Father and salvation of all men is found in no one else but Jesus Christ alone. Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus which must result in a total change of lifestyle. We, therefore, have no association or affiliation with any group, movement or institution that denies this fundamental Christian doctrine (John 14:6, Acts 4:12, Mathew 3:8, Acts 26:20).

2. We believe the whole Holy Bible (in its original language) is the revealed Word of God that is inerrant and the sole authority in the life of any believer of Christ in matters of faith and practice. We, therefore, insist that every view of the ministry must be consistent with the principles found in the Word of God and all meetings, events, gatherings & teachings must be organized, conducted & critiqued based on the Word of God, not human wisdom. (2 Samuel 22:31, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21)

3. We believe that there is only one living and true God, an infinite, all-knowing, all-powerful, perfect Spirit and personal Being, the Holy and Glorious One, the Eternal God, the Creator, the Sustainer and Supreme Ruler of everything that exists whether seen or unseen. We believe that God alone is worthy of all possible honor, worship, praise, confidence and love; and in the unity of the Godhead, there are three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit who are equal in every divine perfection and executing distinct but harmonious offices in the work of redemption. We, therefore, stand by the conviction that apart from the God of Israel, revealed in the Bible, there is no other God; all other gods are null and void. (Deuteronomy 6:4, 1 John 1:5, 1 John 4:8, Hebrews 1:3, Romans 1:20, Exodus 3:14, Ephesians 4:4-6, John 10:30, John 14:8-11)

4. We believe in the power of the person of the Holy Spirit in executing any task in the church of Jesus Christ. We stand by the teaching of the Bible that all gifts and ministries of the Holy Spirit have not ceased but are present and available to the church today. We also believe that the Holy Spirit administers all spiritual gifts as he pleases among believers for the sole purpose of building up the church of Jesus Christ. We, therefore, reject the view that the Holy Spirit is a mere force or energy in the cosmos and we also reject the teachings of the cessationist.(Acts 1:8, 1 Corinthians 12:4-11, Acts 4:8, Acts 6:5, Luke 24:49, Luke 11:13)

5. We believe God ordained marriage and the family as the foundational institution of human society; and that the only legitimate marriage is a sacred and permanent covenant relationship between one man and one woman as a symbol of the union of Jesus and his Church. The husband is to be the servant leader in the home and is to love his wife as Christ loves the church, and the wife is to submit to the leadership of her husband as the church submits to the leadership of Christ. We, therefore, have no part or association with any form of union that does not follow the marriage pattern established by God in the Scriptures. (Genesis 1:26-28, Genesis 2:18-25, Mathew 19:4-6, Ephesians 5:22-33)

6. We believe God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity is to be done outside of the marriage of a man and a woman. Any form of fornication, adultery, homosexuality, lesbianism, bestiality, bisexuality, incest, paedophilia, masturbation, pornography or oral sex sodomy, concubinage, abortion, polygamy, polyandry, donjuanism, and the like is a sinful perversion of God’s gift of sex. We also believe God disapproves and forbids any attempt to alter one’s gender by surgery or appearance. We, therefore, have no part in such shameful and wicked ways, but we will always stand in the light to expose them. (Genesis 2:22-24, Genesis 5:1-2, Genesis 19:5-13, Leviticus 18:1-30, Mathew 19:4-6, Romans 1:24-28, 1 Corinthians 6:9-20, Ephesians 5:3, 11, 1 Thessalonians 4:3-8, Hebrews 13:4)

7. We believe Church discipline is an important part of the Christian life according to the Scriptures. The intention of the Church discipline is corrective and not punitive, meaning, it is to maintain purity in the ministry while seeking to reconcile and restore. We will, therefore, deal with any sin or offences based on the provision of the Scripture. (Hebrews 12:10, 1 Corinthians 5:12-13, 1 Corinthians 6:1-6, 1 Timothy 5:1, 1 Timothy 5:19-20, Galatians 6:1)

8. We believe all professing followers of Jesus Christ after having an understanding must be baptized by immersion in much water in line with teachings in the Bible.  We also believe that Holy Communion or the Lord’s Supper must be regularly served to the saints by the Pastor in-charge or any designated leader, but an explanation of the meaning of this ordinance shall be given. (Mathew 28:19, Acts 2:41, Acts 8:12, Acts 8:36-39, Acts 10:47-48, Acts 19:4-6, 1 Corinthians 11:17-34, Luke 22:17-20)

9. We believe church leadership is ordained and established by the Lord Jesus and not by human opinion nor favouritism based on race, ethnicity, social status, financial capability, nationality, gender or age. It is through the leadership of the Holy Spirit that leaders who have been tested and approved overtime in character and integrity are appointed and commissioned to lead the flock of Jesus to maturity in order to attain the full measure of Christ. We will, therefore, seek to appoint & commission leaders who are above reproach and have their lives and those of their immediate family members conforming to the teaching of the Scriptures. (Acts 6:1-6, Acts 13:1-3, Ephesians 4:11-12, 1 Timothy 3:1-13, 1 Timothy 5:22, Titus 1:5-9)

10. We believe in the biblical teaching of pre-tribulation where all Christians who will be alive will be taken bodily up to Heaven (rapture) before the Great tribulation begins on the earth. We also believe in the biblical teaching of premillennialism where the prophesied millennium of blessedness will begin with the imminent Second Coming of Christ to set up his physical government on earth. These teachings are the basis of our eschatological teachings. (Psalms 72, Daniel 2:44-45, Daniel 7:13-14, Zechariah 14:3-21, Revelation 19:11-20:6)
